My parents and grandparents all grew up and was raised
in Baghdad, Iraq. I've never been there unfortunately
because of the situation but what my parents have told me,
apparently it was a pretty, and a very hot country. When
Iraq becomes more safe onday, I would love to visit as it
looks like a really nice country.
Here is a short video of places in Iraq:

My grandad travelled to New Zealand from Iraq in 1994.
My dad travelled to New Zealand from Iraq in 1995.
My mum travelled to New Zealand from Iraq in 1999 and
settled down with my dad.
I was born and raised in New Zealand with my brother
and my cousins. I really like New Zealand as it's a
really beautiful country as you can tell in the photo
above with the greenery and the pretty landscapes. I love
the hot weather in summer as I can go to the beach and I
love the breeze in winter as its really refreshing.

My grandpa was born in 1932 in Baghdad, Iraq.
He practised Christianity as it helped him and
made him feel safe. He lived with 5 people
living in his small house, his dad, his mum,
his sister and his twin brother. My grandpa
enjoyed playing sports like tennis and soccer
with his friends. My grandpa went to
City, University of London in London, England
and used to be able to speak french fluently
but lost it over time.
In 1994, my grandpa travelled with his wife to
New Zealand for a fresh start and as it was a
much safer country. In the next couple of years,
all of his children and grandchildren settled
in New Zealand and lived pretty close to each
other. My grandpa is now living in a safe and
loving house with his wife which is only a
5-minute drive from my house. My grandpa loves
New Zealand as it’s a very nice country and
especially safe.
My dad was born in 1971 in Baghdad, Iraq.
He practised Christianity and lived with 5
people living in his house, his dad, his
mum, his brother and his sister. My dad
loved to hang out with his friends and to
play sports with them like soccer and
table tennis. My dad knows how to speak
fluent Armenian as his side of his family
is part Armenian.
In 1995, my dad travelled to New Zealand.
Later in 1998, he travelled back to
Baghdad, Iraq to get married to my mum. They
both settled and started a family in
New Zealand along with my other cousins from
my dad side. My dad likes New Zealand as its
a whole new atmosphere, from living in a
very hot, sunny country to a breezy,
beautiful country.
My mum was born in 1977 in Baghdad, Iraq.
She lived with 4 people living in her
house, her dad, her mum and her brother.
One of her favourite memories was gathering
with all of her family in her grandma’s
house for Christmas and playing board games
with her cousins. When my mum was younger,
she loved playing the piano and cooking. She
practised Christianity when she was younger.
“Christianity made me feel relaxed and
confident as I knew God was always by
my side”.
In 1998, she got married to my dad, Laith and
then both settled in Auckland, New Zealand in
1999. She is now living in New Zealand with
her husband, children and close friends,
although she is living quite far from her
parents and brother who live in
Toronto, Canada, she really loves living in
New Zealand.
